With music and sound, ritual and presence, we'll welcome our grief, enter it, move through it, and let it move through us. This is an honest space for tears, silence, or whatever rises. We'll then follow the journey from loss to relief, and explore the stirrings of liberation planted at the close of this day. We'll share light bites of sacred food to seal the ceremony.

Temple of the Stranger is proud to be a partner for a special screening of Sabbath Queen! During Pride Month, we will help celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the award-winning film.

SABBATH QUEEN is a feature documentary filmed over 21 years, follows Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie's epic journey as the dynastic heir of 38 generations of Orthodox rabbis including the Chief Rabbis of Israel. He is torn between rejecting and embracing his destiny and becomes a drag-queen rebel, a queer bio-dad and the founder of Lab/Shul—an everybody-friendly, God-optional, artist-driven, pop-up experimental congregation.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A facilitated by Rav Jericho with Director Sandi DuBowski & Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie.
